Czech Republic had the lead in the first 15 minutes of the game, 8 – 5, causing headache for Ambros Martin and Russia, but Russian managed to turn the result and won the first half 13-15. In the second half the Czech goalkeeper Kudlaczkova had an extraordinary game and was the reason for Russians main problem, they could not score on clear chances. Russia controlled the second half and with two goal difference only, but managed to win the match, being qualified to the Main Round. Final result: 22 – 24.
