Led by Zaadi and Leynaud France was undoubtfully better from the start and went to the pause with a comfortable six-goals lead, 16-10.

In the second half, Spain made a very good defense, France had real problems scoring, and from 17-10 for France, Spain managed to come back to 21-20. But this was the most they could reach as France defended well their advantage and won the match 26-25.
