Goals: Radicevic 7, Ramusovic 5, Pineau 4 (Buducnost) and Bölk 5, Szucsánszki 3, Kovacsics 3 (FTC)

A match with tough defense from Buducnost, outstanding goalkeeper performance from Barbara Arenhart (67% after first half) and many mistakes in attack for both teams. FTC seemed to not be themselves in the first half, did not find the rhythm and could not score against Arenhart. In the second half Hungarians improved in offense, but Buducnost managed to win the first lef with a slight advantage, so in the second leg will be a real fight for the quarter-final spot.

Team Esbjerg – Brest Bretagne 27 – 33 (16 – 17)

Referees: Simone, Monitillo (ITA)

Goals: Pena 9, Tranborg 6, Breistøl 4, Jakobsen 4 (Esbjerg) and Gros 10, Gullden 6, Toublanc 4 (Brest)

Brest Bretagne defeated Team Esbjerg in Denmark getting a bog advantage in order to take the next step into the quarter-finals.
