Group A

Angola managed to take their first victory today, Japan losing their chance to collect more points in order to qualify to the quarter-finals. Montenegro took a slight win against Korea, putting Koreans in a difficult situation regarding the advancement to the next round.

In the group-final Norway defeats Netherland, leading the group and probably winning it.

Angola – Japan 28-25 (15 – 13)

Topscorers: Guialo 5, Kassoma 5, Dos Santos 5 (ANG) and Hara 6, Fuji 5, Ishitate 4 (JPN)

Montenegro Korea 28 – 27 (13 – 11)

Topscorers: Radicevic 6, Jaukovic 5, Mehmedovic 5 (MNE) and Lee 11, Choi – Jo 4-4 (KOR)

Norway – Netherlands 29 – 27 (16 – 13)

Topscorers: Mørk 9, Kristiansen 6, Oftedal 3, Breistøl 3 (NOR) and Smits 7, Snelder 5, Abbingh 4 (NED)

Group B

Russia collected two new points by defeating France in the fourth round of the groups, Sweden remains undefeated, leading the group after winning over Brazil in this round and Hungary took their first victory, defeating Spain and keeping their advancement chances alive!
