Group A

Korea and Angola got a draw, which allows Korea to advance to the quarter-finals. The Netherlands defeats Montenegro, meanwhile, Norway takes a simple victory against Japan.

Korea- Angola 31 – 31 (16 – 17)

Topscorers: Kang 7, Ryu 5 (KOR) and Guialo 8, Kassoma 7 (ANG)

Netherlands – Montenegro 30 – 29( 17 – 12)

Topscorers: van der heijden 5, Snelder 4, Bont 4 (NED) and Radicevic 8, Brnovic 5, Jaukovic 5 (MNE)

Norway – Japan 37 – 25 (16 – 11)

Topscorers: Frafjord 6, Kristiansen-Mørk.Skogrand 5-5 (NOR) and Ohyama 5, Yokoshima 5 /JPN)

Ranking: 1. Norway 2. Netherlands 3, Montenegro 4. Korea 5. Angola 6. Japan

Group B

In this group the last round was very important for Brazil, Spain, Hungary, teams which still could qualify with victories, and Russia could end fourth in the worst case sceanrio. Brazil lost against France, leaving the competiitoon, Spain lost against Russia and had to wait the end of the game between Hungary and Sweden, where the Hungarian victory meant that Spain is also out of the competiiton on the 5th place of the group.

France – Brazil 29 – 22 (17 – 11)

Hungary – Sweden 26 – 23 (15 – 15)

Topscorers: Hafra, Klujber, Lukacs, Marton, Szollosi-Zacsik 4-4 (HUN) and Carlson 5, hagman 5, Roberts 4 (SWE)

Ranking: 1.Sweden 2. ROC 3. France 4. Hungary 4. Spain 6. Brazil
