The bronze final started with a close fight, where both teams had the determination to get the medals. For Spain ut was Cabral, Martin and Castellanos in the first part of the game contributed hugely, Denmark was led by Burgaard, Toft, Jørgensen, and Hansen. Denmark cracked the Spanish defense system after 20 minutes and managed to take the control of the match and won the first half 16-13.

In the second half was only one team to find on the court and this was Denmark. They had the better defense and the better attack and overran Spain in the very elements of the game, winning a deserved bronze medal after eight years of waiting.. Final result: 35 – 28.
