One-goal Esbjerg win away in Bucharest

Esbjerg arrived to Romania with a short squad, missing Polman, Jakobsen and Jensen from the squad.

CSM had on their missing list Smeets and Lazovic, but they signed Eduarda Amorim from Rostov Don, after Russian teams had to leave the competition.

Esbjerg had a good start leading during the entire first half, lead by Breistøl and Reistad they managed to keep up the pace of their attacks, meanwhile their defense worked well. CSM struggled in attack, only Neagu managed to score for the Romanians for a while, until Amorim got a role in attack and she was efficient. Esbjerg won the first half with a three goal difference, and in the second half they had 20-24.

The Romanian side managed to make a comeback and leveled the game at 24-24, only 2 minutes before the end. It looked like the game ends in a draw, but in dying seconds Esbjerg scored the goal of victory, 25-26 by Ingstad.
