Barca in the EHF FINAL4, Flensburg is out

Barca – SG Flensburg Handewitt 27 – 24 (10 – 10)

Referees: Jurinovic, Mrvica (CRO)

Topscorers: Mem 6, Ben Ali 5, Cindric 4 (Barca) and Wanne 6, Golla 4, Svan 4 (Flensburg)

Barca had a four-goal victory in the first leg in Flensburg against an injury-hit German team, playing without Rød, L.Mølle, and having other injuries also this season, lacking power and energy to be able to live up to their opponent’s level.

Barca on the other hand, had to miss also two lineplayers, Fabregas and Frade, but their squad is much wider and they managed much better these problems. Led by Dika Mem and Perez de Vargas did not give any chance for Flensburg in today’s match either, winning 27-23 and taking the Final4 ticket without excitement.

This was the last Champions League game for Lase Svan, the 38 years Danish right-wing will finish his career at the end of the season after fourteen years spent in Flensburg.
