There will be a special semifinal between two teams that did not meet this season. Team Esbjerg is a newcomer in the history of Final4, Gyor won the title already five times. Head coach of Team Esbjerg, Jesper Jensen has been awarded as the IHF coach of the year 2021, meanwhile, head coach of Gyor has been elected the best coach of CL this season, on All-Star teams.

In the first half there was an even battle, where both teams seemed to be very prepared tactically against each other. Esbjerg had the lead almost during the entire first half, with one or two goals. 3-3 and 4-4 was the result, when Esbjerg managed to make a 3-0 and took the lead 4-7. It was a small difference between the two teams in favour of Esbjerg , bot Silje Solberg in the goal had the best goalkeeper performance for GYor, scoring also two goals. In the last 5 minutes of the first half, Gyor managed to equalize the score, to take the lead by one goal 15-14, and the half ended 15-15.

In the second half Gyor just increased the tempo and started to play with a totally another pace, they started using the wings, scoring by Fodor and Faluvegi, and took the leas 18-16. In the defense Nze Minko made good game in the offensive defense, helping her team to keep the lead and increase it, 22-19, 23-20, than 24-20.

After half played second half the score was 25-23. Leynaud entered the court for a penalty which she saved against Reistad, than she continued to help the team to keep the advantage with another saves. Gyor was just airtight in their defense, stopping Henny Reistad to make her game, and they scored on their chances, having a 28-23 lead 7 minutes before the end.

Esbjerg has tried everything in the last five minutes, buts imply could not make it through the Hungarian defense.

Final result: 32 – 21
